Where to find your hand history on Winamax

Step-by-step: locate your Winamax History folder on Windows and Mac, then import it into EV Lighthouse in under a minute.

To analyse your poker results in any tracker, you first need your hand history — the text files Winamax saves to your computer after every session. This guide shows you exactly where Winamax stores them on Windows and Mac, and how to import them into EV Lighthouse in under a minute.

What is a hand history?

Every time you play on Winamax, the client writes a plain-text record of each tournament and each hand to a folder on your machine. There are two kinds of file:

  • Summary files (..._summary.txt) — one per tournament, with buy-in, finish position and payout.
  • Hand files — the full play-by-play of every hand (cards, actions, board, results).

A tracker reads these files to rebuild your bankroll, ROI and hand statistics. Nothing is uploaded from Winamax automatically — you point the tracker at the folder yourself.

Step 1 — Play at least one hand

Winamax only creates the history folder after your first session. If you have never played on this computer, open the Winamax client and play (or even just sit at) one hand first. If you have already played, skip ahead.

Step 2 — Find your History folder

Winamax stores the folder in different places depending on your operating system and client version. Open your file explorer and try these paths in order.

On Windows:

C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\Winamax\documents\accounts\WINAMAX USERNAME\History

or

C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Documents\Winamax Poker\Accounts\WINAMAX USERNAME\History

On Mac:

/Users/YOUR NAME/Library/Application Support/Winamax/documents/accounts/WINAMAX USERNAME/History

or

/Users/YOUR NAME/Documents/Winamax Poker/

Shortcut

On Windows, paste the path straight into the File Explorer address bar and replace the highlighted parts with your Windows name and your Winamax username. AppData is hidden by default, so typing the full path is faster than clicking through folders.

You will know you are in the right place when you see lots of files named like:

20260224_Expresso(123456789)_real_holdem_no-limit.txt
20260224_Expresso(123456789)_summary.txt

Step 3 — Import into EV Lighthouse

  1. Log in to EV Lighthouse and click Upload Hands in the top-right corner.
  2. When the picker opens, select the whole History folder (not individual files).
  3. Your browser may ask whether you trust this site with the folder — confirm to continue.

EV Lighthouse parses everything automatically and your dashboard fills in with your tournaments, bankroll chart and stats.

Your data stays yours

Files are parsed locally in your browser. Only the resulting statistics are saved to your account — never the raw hand text. Re-importing is safe too: already-imported files are detected and skipped, so you only ever add what is new.

Troubleshooting

  • "No Winamax files recognised." You probably selected the wrong folder. Make sure you picked the History folder itself, and that the files look like 20260224_Expresso(123456789)...txt.
  • The folder is empty or missing. Play one more hand and check again — Winamax writes the files when a tournament finishes. Tournaments still in progress are skipped until they complete.
  • Nothing happens after I pick the folder. Try a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge) or Firefox, which support folder selection.

Keeping your stats up to date

Just re-run the import whenever you want fresh numbers — point EV Lighthouse at the same History folder and only new tournaments and hands are added. Many players do this after each session.
